ONLY ONE PRESIDENT HAS EVER SEEN WHAT'S INSIDE.

Corporate Event DJ Fort Knox — Franklin Roosevelt is the only sitting U.S. president to have ever stepped inside the Fort Knox vault, which holds 147.3 million troy ounces of gold — roughly half the entire U.S. Treasury's reserves. No single person alive knows every procedure required to open it. That reputation gave us the phrase "safe as Fort Knox," and Fort Knox itself is one of the largest employers in the region, driving a steady calendar of military and civilian corporate events around it.

FORT KNOX FAQ

How much gold is actually at Fort Knox?

147.3 million troy ounces — about half of the entire U.S. Treasury's gold reserves. The vault has been opened to outsiders only twice in its history: a 1974 congressional visit and a 2017 visit by the Treasury Secretary. Only one sitting president, Franklin Roosevelt, has ever been inside.

Is it true no one person knows how to open the Fort Knox vault?

That's the U.S. Mint's own account — no single individual knows every procedure required to access it. The building itself, completed in 1936, used 16,000 cubic feet of granite and 750 tons of reinforced steel.

Is Fort Knox really as secure as the saying implies?

The idiom 'safe as Fort Knox' comes directly from this facility's reputation. It's been featured in Goldfinger, Bugs Bunny cartoons, and countless other pop culture references built entirely on that mystique.

Is there a travel fee for corporate events near Fort Knox?
