DJ COMPANY & PRODUCTION

Professional Event DJ & Production in Evansville & the Tri-State

The Difference

More Than Just Music —
Confidence for Your Event.

If you’re looking for a professional DJ, what you really want isn’t just music — it’s confidence. Confidence that the timeline will flow. Confidence that the sound will be crystal clear. Confidence that the room will feel right.

Why Spectrum Sound is Different

We’re not “just DJs.” We’re an event production company that happens to DJ. Great events don’t happen by accident. They’re engineered — through preparation, experience, and attention to detail long before guests ever walk in the room. We understand the full experience you want to create:

  • The atmosphere you envision
  • The energy level you want throughout the night
  • The songs that matter most
  • The songs that absolutely don't
Effortless Event Planning

Whether it’s a packed dance floor playing Beyoncé and current hits, a multi-generational wedding reception, or a polished corporate celebration that needs seamless execution — we design the music and flow intentionally.

Our team is professional, polished, and prepared. We coordinate with planners and venues to manage transitions smoothly. We read the room in real time to protect the experience so you don’t have to think about it.

"Because when production is handled correctly, you get to be present."

How much does a Wedding DJ cost in Evansville and the Tri-State?

+

Discounted pricing starts at $895 for 4-hour coverage on Sunday–Thursday dates, and for select Saturday/Sunday dates in January and February as they become available. Do you serve venues like KlubHaus 61?

+
Yes. We have performed at KlubHaus 61 and throughout Dubois County including countryside barn venues, lodge-style settings, church halls, and private estates across Huntingburg, Ferdinand, Santa Claus, and Dale.

Do you offer discounts for off-season or weekday weddings?

+
Yes. We offer $895 packages for 4-hour Sunday–Thursday weddings, plus a limited number of weekend dates in January and February each year. These open up on a rolling basis, so it's worth asking early what's currently available for your timeframe.

How much preparation goes into a Spectrum Sound wedding?

+
Our wedding DJs invest 9–18 hours per wedding — covering initial consultation, custom music planning, vendor coordination, a 1–2 hour final planning meeting, day-of performance, and post-event follow-up.

What type of music does one typically like at weddings?

+
Crowds typically respond well to classic rock, country, and contemporary hits that blend traditional and modern sensibilities. We read the room in real time — adapting genres to keep every generation on the floor.

Should we hire a DJ or a live band for our wedding?

+
Most couples choose a DJ for flexibility, song variety, and cost. A professional DJ can play virtually any song instantly, adjust energy in real time based on the crowd, and keep the dance floor moving non-stop from cocktail hour through last dance — no set breaks. A live band brings a unique energy but is limited to its repertoire and needs downtime between sets. Either can work beautifully; it comes down to the experience you want and your budget.

What makes Spectrum Sound different?

+
Five things: 9–18 hours of prep, backup equipment always on-site, transparent pricing, a zero no-show record, and our Dance Floor Promise. Plus 103 five-star reviews from real couples (4.9 stars).

What is your entertainment style?

+
Cheese-free. The couple is always the star — not the DJ. No forced audience participation or DJ standing on tables. What you get is a warm, confident MC voice and a room where guests dance naturally — not cringe.

What are the payment terms for booking?

+
A 50% non-refundable retainer is due within 7 days of your initial meeting. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your event. We accept all major cards, PayPal, Venmo, and personal checks.

Do you have a wireless microphone for ceremonies?

+
Yes — a Shure wireless microphone with approximately 50-yard range, perfect for venues from KlubHaus 61 to outdoor ceremonies at countryside properties.

Can we select all the songs for our wedding?

+
Absolutely — and we encourage it. Submit up to 40 must-play songs and a Do Not Playlist across five categories. We handle crowd-reading and real-time adaptation for the rest.

Can we have overtime if the event runs long?

+
Absolutely — we stay and continue as long as it's reasonable. Please give us advance notice rather than waiting until the last song. Overtime is $250/hr for Packages 01–03 and $300/hr for Packages 04–06.

What if you get sick on my wedding day?

+
Your date is protected. Spectrum Sound maintains a vetted network of professional partners with qualified replacements briefed on your timeline. Across 1,200+ events, we have a zero no-show record.

What exactly does "cheese-free" mean?

+
It means no garter toss humiliation skits or screaming into microphones. In practice it looks like clean announcements, seamless transitions, and a room where guests dance naturally — not cringing.

How far in advance should I book?

+
For peak-season Saturdays, book 12–18 months in advance. For Sun–Thu or Jan–Feb Saturdays, 3–6 months is usually sufficient. Call or text (812) 431-8085 to check your specific date.

Is my date protected by a written contract?

+
Yes — always. Every booking is secured by a written contract that spells out your date, package, and pricing. No handshake deals. Your signed contract is your guarantee.

Who is actually behind Spectrum Sound?

+
Terry Tunks — owner and lead DJ. Terry has produced 1,200+ events across Southern Indiana, Western Kentucky, and Southern Illinois. You work with Terry from the first consultation through the last song of the night.

How quickly will you respond?

+
During business hours (Mon–Sun, 9am–9pm), we typically respond to calls and texts within the hour. Emails and form submissions are handled within one business day.

What's the average cost of a wedding DJ in Indiana?

+
Couples across Indiana generally spend in the neighborhood of $1,100 to $3,000 on their wedding DJ, with the final number shaped by the provider's experience, equipment, and scope of service. Spectrum Sound's packages run $1,550 to $3,500, reflecting full-service production — DJ, MC, professional lighting where selected, and 9–18 hours of behind-the-scenes prep per event, not just someone behind a laptop for the reception.

How do I choose the right wedding DJ?

+
Start with verified reviews and years of experience. Ask how many hours go into planning your specific event, not just performing it. Confirm there's backup equipment on-site in case of failure. Find out their MC style — many couples now prefer a "cheese-free" approach where the spotlight stays on them, not the DJ. And always get your date, package, and pricing in a signed contract — never a handshake deal.

Are you familiar with weddings?

+
We've performed at KlubHaus 61, Schroeder's Saddle Club, and many local barns repeatedly. We know the acoustics, the polka-adjacent energy, and the community warmth.
