Your party will be lit.

The room sets the mood before the first song.

I light weddings, galas and private parties across the Tri-State: uplights that wash your walls in your colors, dance-floor light that moves with the music, and your monogram on the floor. Every fixture is placed, aimed and programmed by me, and priced line by line before you sign.

What lighting actually changes

Most reception rooms are built to be neutral. Beige walls, high ceilings, overhead fluorescents that make a ballroom feel like a conference center. Lighting is the fastest way to change that without touching the venue: it takes the same room your guests saw at the tour and makes it look like it was designed for your night.

It also changes how people behave. A warm, lower-lit room pulls guests toward the dance floor. A bright, flat one keeps them at their tables. And it shows up in every photo your photographer takes for the rest of the evening.

Your colors, on the walls

Each uplight sits on the floor against a wall or column and throws color upward. Pick any color you like; I match it to your wedding palette, your company logo or the season.

Simulated wash. Real color depends on wall finish, which is one reason I see the room first.

What my lighting options include

  • Wireless, battery-powered uplighting and wash lights
  • Dance floor lighting to energize your guests
  • A wide color chart to match your theme, palette or logo
  • Other options depending on your venue, confirmed at the walk-through

What I light

Uplighting

From $35 per fixture

Wireless, battery-powered fixtures placed around the perimeter to wash walls, columns and architectural details. One steady color, or multi-color fixtures that can shift through the night.

Dance floor light show

$350

Synchronized moving fixtures and dynamic color washes that react to the music. Subtle during dinner, full energy once the floor opens. Run live by me, not left on a timer.

Monogram gobo

$250

Your names, initials or logo projected onto the dance floor or a wall. A gobo is a small etched stencil inside a projector; I set it, focus it and aim it before guests arrive.

Dancing on a Cloud

$300

A low, rolling cloud of chilled fog for your first dance or parent dances. It stays at ankle height, so every photo stays clean, and it clears in minutes. Cleared with your venue at the walk-through.

Bride and groom sharing their first dance on a low cloud of chilled fog covering the dance floor at a wedding reception. Call or text 812-431-8085.

Lighting pricing

Every line below is its own entry on your quote, so you add only what suits the room. Lighting rides on the same contract and invoice as your DJ booking.

EnhancementWhat it isPrice
LED uplighting, single colorPer fixture, one color you choose$35
LED uplighting, multi-color DMXPer fixture, programmed color changes$50
Link the rig to dynamic multi-colorWhole uplight rig moving together with the night+$200
Dance floor light showSynchronized moving fixtures and dynamic color washes$350
Monogram gobo spotlightYour names or logo projected on floor or wall$250
Dancing on a CloudLow chilled-fog cloud for the first dance$300

How it adds up. Twelve multi-color uplights are $600. Link them so the whole room shifts together and it's $800. Add your monogram on the floor and it's $1,050.

Already in a wedding starting point. The Deluxe wedding starting point ($2,500) includes eight LED uplights, and Nightclub ($3,000) includes the full dance floor light show. See every starting point on the pricing page.

Travel outside the Evansville home market is shown as a separate, transparent line item in your quote before you sign. No surprises.

How I plan your lighting

  1. Walk the room. On site when the venue is near, on video with your coordinator and the floor plan when it's farther out. I note wall color, ceiling height, power and anything the venue doesn't allow.
  2. Pick colors and count fixtures. We match your palette or logo, and I tell you how many fixtures the room actually needs, not the most I can sell you.
  3. Clear it with the venue. Fog, gobos and fixture placement get confirmed with your coordinator ahead of time, never on the day.
  4. Set before guests arrive. I arrive 60 to 90 minutes early, so every fixture is placed, aimed and tested before the doors open.
  5. Run it live. The lighting follows the night: soft through dinner, up for the first dance, full color once the floor opens.

"We have had so many compliments on your DJ service, the up lighting & monogram, and the Pics Photo Booth. The monogram ended up being one of Ryan's favorite things at our reception! We feel that the reception went without any glitches or worries, and we thank you for that!"

Event lighting questions

How much does uplighting cost?

Single-color LED uplights are $35 per fixture and multi-color DMX fixtures are $50. Linking the whole rig so it changes color together is a flat $200 more. Twelve multi-color fixtures, linked, come to $800. Travel outside the Evansville home market is its own line on the quote.

How many uplights does my room need?

It depends on the wall length, the number of columns and how much of the room you want washed. The Deluxe wedding starting point includes eight, which suits many reception rooms; a large ballroom usually wants more. I count them at the walk-through and tell you the number the room needs.

Are the uplights wireless?

Yes. They're battery-powered, so there are no cords running across the floor and no hunting for outlets. That keeps the room clean in photos and keeps guests from tripping over cables.

Can you match our wedding colors or company logo?

Yes. Send me your palette, a fabric swatch or your brand colors and I'll match them. Multi-color fixtures can also shift color through the night, warm for dinner and brighter once the dancing starts.

What is a monogram gobo?

A gobo is a small etched stencil that sits inside a projector. I use it to project your names, initials or company logo onto the dance floor or a wall. It's $250, and it's one of the details guests photograph most.

Will my venue allow fog and projected lighting?

Most do, but some have rules about fog or fixture placement. I confirm everything with your venue coordinator at the walk-through, before your event, so nothing gets turned off on the night.

Can I add lighting to a corporate event or gala?

Yes. Brand-color uplighting and a projected logo work well at galas, award dinners and holiday parties. I'm on site at every event, and larger productions add crew working under my direction.

How do I book lighting?

Call or text (812) 431-8085 with your date and venue. Once you meet with me I hold your date for 7 days, no payment. A 50% retainer, non-refundable, then locks it the moment it clears, and lighting goes on the same contract and invoice as your DJ.
