Your Princeton Wedding Deserves More Than Someone Pressing Play.

Anyone can make a playlist. The value is in knowing what to play, when to speak, when to stay quiet, when to change direction and how to keep the night moving without making it feel managed.

The person you plan with is the person who shows up. I handle your conversations, music plan, timeline details and the wedding itself. That continuity matters because I already know the names, priorities and decisions behind the night before I ever pick up the microphone. Call or text (812) 431-8085.

One Person Accountable From Your First Call to Your Last Song

I'm Terry Tunks. Princeton is the Gibson County seat, north of my office on Highway 41 and inside my home market — no travel fee, and no substitute, because Spectrum Sound is one person. I have produced weddings in Gibson County since 1992, and the two rooms I send Princeton couples to first — the Toyota Event Center and the hillside at Shinnyville — are rooms I have set up in more times than I could count. I have DJed since 1987 and never missed a date.

You can taste the cake. You can see the photographer's last twenty weddings. You can tour the room. The one thing you cannot preview is the four hours a DJ spends with a microphone and your guests — which is exactly why so many Princeton couples end up with a company name on the contract and a stranger behind the booth. My answer is simple: meet me. I am the one who answers the phone, walks your venue, builds your timeline and runs the night, and I have been since 1992.

01 — The Preview. Stand in your Princeton venue with me before you sign — the head table, the floor, the ceremony spot if it's outdoors, the outlet I'll actually use.
02 — The Timeline. Built minute by minute with you, then sent to your photographer, caterer and coordinator. For a mixed-family room, the first hour is planned as carefully as the last.
03 — The Introductions. Your wedding party walks in by name, with a line about who they are to you, so two hundred people who have never met know who is who before the toasts start.
04 — The Backup. Second mixer, second playback, spare mics, spare speakers — on the truck to Princeton every time. A failure is a thirty-second swap, not a silent room.

A Plan Built Around People, Not Assumptions

A familiar ballroom does not make two weddings alike. The people change. The memories change. The meaning attached to a song changes. That is why I prepare for the people first and the room second.

Music is only one layer. I also prepare the timeline, names, formalities, special dances, microphone work and room logistics, then stay in communication with the photographer, caterer and venue. The work your guests never see is what helps the night feel easy to them.

I prepare for the wedding we discussed and stay ready for the wedding that actually unfolds. That is the balance I want for your Princeton wedding: enough structure to protect the important moments, enough flexibility to respond to the people who actually show up.

Princeton Wedding Venues I Know

Toyota Event Center — Princeton. A large, purpose-built event space with a real floor and real power. I set the booth on the head-table wall so the floor stays in front of the couple, and the large-format system reaches the back of the room without leaning on the near tables.
Shinnyville Hill — Rural Gibson County. A private hillside event venue out in the country. Ceremony on the hill under open sky, reception below; I run the outdoor rig against the wind and have the reception system live before your guests come down.

Also in reach a few minutes down Highway 41: Pine & Company, Cambridge Golf Club, Oak Meadow Country Club, Old National Events Plaza, Old Post Office Event Center, Hawthorn Estates. More Princeton venues are being added as I verify them.

Different Memories, Different Dance Floors

I do not judge a reception by whether every person dances every minute. I look for momentum: different groups finding their moment, energy building and resetting naturally, and people returning to the floor because the music keeps giving them reasons.

The library behind me contains more than 250,000 songs, organized so I can move when the room moves. That flexibility matters when a reception turns out to be different from what any of us could have predicted on paper.

There is no universal perfect wedding mix. I am trying to find your room's Baby Bear setting: the point where the music feels familiar enough to invite people in and fresh enough to keep the night moving. Not my definition of “just right” — yours, interpreted through what we planned together and what the room is telling me in real time.

Photo Booth — From $300, One Invoice

The booth comes from PicsPhotoBooth.com, my sister brand since 2010, and it rides on the DJ contract — one signature, one invoice. $300 self-serve, printed strips from $500. In the Toyota Event Center lobby it becomes the place two families finally mix. Booked with the DJ, the booth is priced as part of the night rather than as a separate rental — we set that at the consultation.

Dancing on a Cloud — $300 Add-On

Chilled fog rolls across the floor at ankle height for your first dance and holds there — a white floor under you and your partner, clear air above so the photographs stay sharp — then clears in minutes with nothing left behind. It's made for an indoor floor like the Toyota Event Center's; on the open hillside at Shinnyville it won't hold, and I'll tell you so rather than sell it. For the first dance and the parent dances, on the same invoice.

Princeton Wedding DJ Questions, Answered

What does preparation look like before my Princeton wedding?

We form a team before the wedding. Your song choices give me clues about what “good music” means to you, and we also work through the timeline, introductions, special dances, family considerations, do-not-plays, microphone style and venue details. I use that preparation as a framework, then stay flexible when the actual room gives us new information.

How do you decide what to play at a Princeton reception?

I start with the musical clues you give me, then read the room live — who is dancing, who is not, which generations are responding and whether the energy needs to build, breathe or change direction. My organized library of more than 250,000 songs gives me options; experience helps me choose the option that fits your people rather than somebody else’s wedding.

What venues in Princeton do you work?

The Toyota Event Center and Shinnyville Hill in Gibson County, plus Pine & Company, Cambridge Golf Club, Oak Meadow Country Club, and a handful of north-side Evansville rooms a few minutes down Highway 41. More Princeton venues are being added as I verify them.

Is it really you at my wedding, or someone you send?

Yes, it's me. I am the only DJ at Spectrum Sound — the person who takes your call, walks the venue with you, and runs your reception is the same person. No substitute has ever been sent in 1,200+ events since 1992, and I book one wedding per date.

Half our guests are coming from out of town. Does that change how you run the night?

It changes the first hour. A room that doesn't know each other needs a longer cocktail set and an entrance that introduces the wedding party by name and story, so two families become one crowd before dinner. I build that into the timeline at the walk-through.

How much does a wedding DJ cost in Princeton, Indiana?

A Spectrum Sound wedding in Princeton costs $1,550 for reception-only coverage up to $3,500 for the full production build, and there is no travel fee — Princeton is the Gibson County seat, north of my office on Highway 41 and inside my home market. Off-peak dates start at $895 with a four-hour minimum.
