Wedding DJ · Bowling Green KY · Zone 4

THE SAME PERSON,
FROM YOUR FIRST CALL TO YOUR LAST SONG

"I'm Terry Tunks. I started DJing at Western Kentucky University in 1987 — in Bowling Green, on the same campus where many of the couples I now serve first met. I have been producing Tri-State and South Central Kentucky weddings since 1992. Bowling Green has the energy of a college town, the roots of South Central Kentucky, and wedding venues that range from Chaney's Dairy Barn to the architectural character of Riverview at Hobson Grove. When you hire Spectrum Sound, I answer the phone, walk your venue before the contract is signed, plan your music, and show up. One event per date — every time."

Zone 4 is a flat $300 in your quote before you sign. That number does not change between contract and invoice. No mileage formula, no fuel surcharge the week of the event. The prep — 9–18 hours per Bowling Green wedding — is what makes the distance irrelevant by the time the room fills.

WHY BOWLING GREEN KY COUPLES
CHOOSE SPECTRUM SOUND

🎓

01 — Started Here. 1987. WKU.

I started DJing at Western Kentucky University in 1987 — in Bowling Green. Not a DJ who travels to Warren County for the first time on your wedding day. A DJ who learned to read a college-town crowd in this city, who understands the particular energy of a South Central Kentucky celebration, and who has been producing Tri-State weddings since 1992. The 9–18 hours of prep per Bowling Green wedding are built on 38 years of knowing what works in rooms like yours.

👤

02 — One DJ. Your Whole Day.

Terry Tunks performs every Spectrum Sound event personally — no subcontractors, no rotating staff, no last-minute substitutes. The person on your first call is behind the decks at your Bowling Green reception from your processional through the final song. 1,200+ events. Zero no-shows since 1992.

💰

03 — Flat $300. Zone 4. No Math.

Bowling Green is Zone 4 — a flat $300, stated in your quote before you sign, that does not change between contract and invoice. No fuel surcharge the week of the wedding, no mileage formula. The Nashville market charges $5,000+ for talent at this production level. Spectrum Sound pricing starts at $1,550 plus the flat $300 Zone 4 fee — one number, before you sign, that stays through the invoice.

🔒

04 — Full Backup. Every Venue.

A complete backup system attends every Bowling Green booking — backup speakers, backup mixer, backup source gear, in the room. Chaney's Dairy Barn has different power and acoustic characteristics than Riverview at Hobson Grove; SKyPAC has different sight-line requirements than a Warren County club event. In 1,200+ events since 1992, a failure has never stopped a Spectrum Sound reception.

🏎

05 — Bowling Green Has Character

Bowling Green is home to WKU, the National Corvette Museum, and a wedding market that blends college-town energy with South Central Kentucky roots. Couples here want entertainment that keeps pace with that character — not a generic DJ experience that could happen anywhere. The dance floor energy in a Warren County wedding is real. The prep that makes it happen is what separates the experience from just showing up.

🏆

06 — The Dance Floor Promise

A full floor at Chaney's Dairy Barn or Riverview at Hobson Grove means guests who stayed late, photos that are alive across every table, and a reception your family talks about for years. I have been reading Tri-State and South Central Kentucky crowds since 1987. I know when a Warren County room needs a country anthem, a classic rock set, a pop floor-filler, or the throwback that pulls every generation in at once. The floor stays full when the music earns it.

WHERE CORVETTES ARE MADE
AND TERRY LEARNED TO DJ

Western Kentucky University is in Bowling Green — the same campus where Terry Tunks started DJing in 1987. That is not a coincidence. It means the DJ at your Bowling Green wedding learned to read a live crowd in this city, on this energy, and has been returning to South Central Kentucky for events ever since. Most DJs who serve Bowling Green from outside the market make the drive and figure it out when they get there. This is different.

Bowling Green's dual identity — the WKU college-town pulse alongside the deep generational roots of Warren County — creates a wedding crowd that spans more range than most markets this size. That range is what makes the DJ's job harder and what makes genuine preparation the only thing that works. The $300 Zone 4 travel fee covers the drive. The 9–18 hours of prep cover everything else.

DANCING ON A CLOUD

For four minutes, the floor disappears.

In the grand parlor at Riverview at Hobson Grove — the 1872 antebellum mansion on the National Register of Historic Places, restored period rooms, the kind of venue that took a century and a half to become what it is — the Dancing on a Cloud effect fills the dance floor to ankle height and holds through the full first dance. It stays low, not airborne, so photographs stay clean and guests see you against the period molding and restored ceiling above the cloud. A room that required that much care to preserve deserves a first dance that matches it.

Available for the first dance and the parent dances. Clears in minutes with nothing left behind. Cleared with your venue coordinator at the walk-through. On the same invoice as the DJ.

Do you play everything on our must-play list?

Yes — up to 40 songs, and every one gets played. Your first dance, parent dances, entrance, and last dance are locked to the minute. The rest I place where they work: floor-fillers on the floor, slow songs and sing-alongs at dinner or cocktail hour. If a song would empty a packed floor, it moves earlier — it never disappears.

I'm Terry Tunks. I started DJing at Western Kentucky University in 1987 — in Bowling Green, on the same campus where many of the couples I now serve first met. I've been producing Tri-State and South Central Kentucky weddings since 1992, and I'm the one behind the booth every time.

The Same Person Books It, Plans It, and Runs It

Bowling Green's dual identity — the WKU college-town pulse alongside the deep generational roots of Warren County — creates a wedding crowd with more range than most markets this size. I've been reading that particular mix since I started DJing on the WKU campus in 1987. You talk to me at booking, plan with me at the consultation, and I'm behind the booth for your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception myself.

01 · STARTED HERE. 1987. WKU.

I learned to read a crowd in this city, not on a first drive-in for your wedding day. That history is built into the 9–18 hours of prep every Bowling Green wedding gets.

02 · NO SUBS, EVER

Every Spectrum Sound wedding — Bowling Green included — is performed by me personally. I don't book out a roster.

03 · BACKUP SYSTEM, ALWAYS

Full redundant sound gear travels with me to every wedding. A blown speaker or a dead cable is my problem to solve on the spot, never yours to notice.

04 · REAL PLANNING TIME

9–18 hours of planning and performance goes into your day — timeline, must-plays, and a run-of-show built with you, not handed to you.

The Dance Floor Promise

I read the room in real time rather than running a fixed set list — a song that would clear a packed floor gets moved earlier or dropped for something that doesn't. You give me up to 40 must-play songs ahead of time and I place them where they actually land, and I know when a Warren County room needs a country anthem, a classic rock set, or the throwback that pulls every generation in at once. If the floor empties, that's on me to fix in the moment.

Wedding Venues in Bowling Green & Warren County

Bowling Green's venue map runs from Chaney's Dairy Barn to the architectural character of Riverview at Hobson Grove: Capitol Arts Center, SKyPAC, National Corvette Museum event spaces, Mariah's Restaurant & Event Space, Warren County Club, and The Factory at Franklin. Every Bowling Green booking includes a venue walk-through before I quote — each of these rooms has its own acoustic profile and coordinator protocol worth mapping out ahead of time.

What You're Actually Hiring

One DJ — me — for your whole day in Bowling Green, Kentucky: ceremony sound, cocktail hour, reception, and MC duties, with a written quote, a 50% non-refundable retainer, and a flat travel fee shown as its own line, not folded into the price. I've been doing this since 1987, weddings specifically since 1992, and I still play every one myself.

Dancing on a Cloud — $300

Your first dance, lit from the floor up in a low fog cloud that stays below the knee — the room sees it, the smoke alarm doesn't. Especially striking in a room like the grand parlor at Riverview at Hobson Grove. It's a two-minute moment that shows up in every photo and video from the night. Venue-safe, and I run it myself alongside the music.
