Spectrum Sound

Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 7/20/1987. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all DJ, MC, and AV production bookings made through SpectrumSound.com. By submitting a booking request, paying a deposit, or engaging my services, you (“Client”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Area

I provide DJ, MC, and AV production services for weddings and corporate events throughout Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois. Availability outside my usual service area may be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to additional travel arrangements.

2. Who You’re Booking

I am the sole operator of Spectrum Sound. I personally DJ and MC every event I book — there are no subcontracted DJs. I’ve been DJing since 1987 and producing weddings since 1992.

3. Packages & Pricing

Package details and pricing are confirmed at the time of your quote and outlined in your booking agreement. My quote is your invoice — the price I confirm at booking is the price you pay, with no surprise add-ons at the end.

Off-peak pricing of $895 is available Sunday–Thursday, and on select January, February, and March Saturdays, with a 4-hour minimum booking. This rate applies only under those specific conditions and will be confirmed on your quote if it applies to your date.

4. Booking & Deposit

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

6. Payment Terms

Accepted payment methods will be provided at the time of booking. Late payments may delay confirmation of your event details, and where a final balance remains unpaid by the event date, I reserve the right to withhold or cancel service.

7. Event Day Logistics & Equipment

8. Music Requests & Client Input

I welcome song requests, do-not-play lists, and timeline input ahead of your event, and I’ll follow your guidance throughout. Final judgment calls on pacing and flow during the event — such as adjusting for an empty dance floor — remain mine to make in the interest of a good event, unless you’ve specifically instructed otherwise in writing.

9. Client Responsibilities & Prohibited Use

The Client agrees to ensure guests interact with equipment safely and only as intended. Any damage caused by guests or by failure to provide a safe setup environment (dry, level, adequately powered space) is the Client’s responsibility, as outlined in Section 10.

10. Damage, Loss & Liability

The Client is responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to my equipment occurring during the event that results from guest conduct or venue conditions outside my control. Replacement or repair costs will be invoiced to the Client following the event.

I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from my services, including but not limited to lost time or dissatisfaction due to venue conditions beyond my control (power availability, indoor/outdoor acoustics, space limitations). My total liability under these Terms will not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for the applicable booking.

11. Force Majeure

I am not responsible for delays, changes, or inability to perform due to circumstances beyond my reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disaster, venue closure, road closures, illness, or other emergencies. In such cases, I will work with the Client in good faith to reschedule or otherwise resolve the booking.

12. Photo & Video Usage

Unless the Client requests otherwise in writing prior to the event, photos and video captured during a booking may be used for promotional purposes, including on my website and social media channels. Personal client or guest names are not published alongside images without separate consent.

13. Privacy

Any personal information collected during the booking process, such as contact details and event information, is used solely to fulfill the booking and communicate with the Client, and is not sold to third parties.

14. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of booking will govern that booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be resolved in the appropriate courts of Indiana.

16. Contact

Questions about these Terms or an existing booking can be directed to me through my contact form at SpectrumSound.com or by calling (812) 431-8085.
