St. Louis sits where the Missouri and Mississippi rivers meet, marked by the 630-foot Gateway Arch downtown and a deep baseball tradition around the Cardinals. St. Louis is Zone 6 — a flat $500 travel fee, with an overnight stay generally part of the plan given the distance from Evansville. Wherever your party lands in the metro, the same setup and personal attention apply as any closer booking. St. Louis runs on Central time, same as Evansville. Whatever corner of the metro your party lands in, the booking runs on the same pricing, the same equipment, and the same personal attention as a party held minutes from Evansville.

The Spectrum Sound Difference

Three things that set a Party DJ booking apart from a random Craigslist ad.

One person, every time. Every St. Louis party gets Terry Tunks, not a rotating roster of subcontracted DJs. That means the person you talk to on the phone about your playlist, your timeline, and your do-not-play list is the same person running the mic and the mixer on the day — no last-minute swap, no handoff notes lost between two different people.

Gear built for real parties. The sound system, wireless mics, and lighting rig are the same professional-grade equipment Terry brings to weddings and corporate events, just right-sized for a backyard, a rec room, or a rented hall. A full backup system travels to every event, so a blown speaker or a dead battery never becomes your problem.

A plan built around your space. Before your date, Terry talks through your specific layout — where people will actually be standing, where the outlets are, whether the dance floor is inside or under a tent — so setup on the day is fast and the sound is dialed in for your room, not a generic template.

Party DJ FAQ — St. Louis, MO

Who shows up to DJ my party in St. Louis?

Terry Tunks, every time — no subcontractors, no rotating staff. The person you talk to on the phone is the person running your sound and mic on the day, and that's been true for 1,200-plus events with zero no-shows.

Is there a travel fee for St. Louis?

Yes — St. Louis is Zone 6, a flat $500 added to the package price and shown as its own line in your quote before you sign. It never gets blended into the package number.

Is there a deposit?

Yes. Once we've talked through your date, I hold it for 7 days with no payment. A 50% retainer, non-refundable, then locks it in the moment it clears. The balance is due on the first of the month before your event.

Do you ever need to stay overnight?

For most bookings this far out, it depends on the schedule. If load-in, teardown, or a late end time makes the drive home unsafe, lodging is billed separately at $200 per room per night and disclosed in your quote before you sign — never a surprise afterward.

How much space do you need?

A spot along a wall, not a corner — that gives your guests equal access to the dance floor from every angle. Roughly the footprint of a card table plus a little standing room, near a standard outlet. I'll confirm the exact spot when we go over the space.

Do you take breaks?

The music never stops. I don't take a set break like a band would — if I step away for a minute to grab water or check on setup, a playlist covers it seamlessly and you won't hear a gap. Your guests should never notice I stepped away at all.

How far ahead should I book?

As early as you can for spring-through-fall weekends, especially if your date falls near a local festival or a holiday weekend — those book up fastest. That said, plenty of Party DJ bookings come together on a few weeks' notice, so don't assume it's too late. Call and I'll tell you honestly whether your date's open rather than stringing you along.

Can I give you a do-not-play list?

Please do. Send your must-plays and your do-not-plays ahead of time, and I'll build the whole night around both instead of guessing. I take requests live too, but your list comes first — if a guest asks for something on your do-not-play list, it stays off no matter how many times they ask.
