Providence built its identity on coal — commercial mining began here in 1888, and by 1930 the town's population had grown to nearly 4,800 on the strength of it. The Main Street and Broadway historic district is listed on the National Register today, and Main Street Park anchors the town's gatherings. Backyard parties and reunions here get the same setup as any closer booking. Providence is Zone 2 — a flat $100 travel fee, shown as its own line. Central time, same as Evansville.

Party DJ FAQ — Providence, KY

Who shows up to DJ my party in Providence?

Terry Tunks, every time — no subcontractors, no rotating staff. The person you talk to on the phone is the person running your sound and mic on the day, and that's been true for 1,200-plus events with zero no-shows.

Is there a travel fee for Providence?

Yes — Providence is Zone 2, a flat $100 added to the package price and shown as its own line in your quote before you sign. It never gets blended into the package number.

Is there a deposit?

Yes. Once we've talked through your date, I hold it for 7 days with no payment. A 50% retainer, non-refundable, then locks it in the moment it clears. The balance is due on the first of the month before your event.

What music do you play?

Whatever your crowd wants. I've DJ'd since 1987, so the library runs from motown and classic rock to current pop, country, and hip-hop. You set the direction; I read the room from there.

What's included in the price?

Full sound system sized for the room, a wireless mic, MC and announcements if you want them, dance-floor lighting, and unlimited requests — on every tier. Higher tiers add more hours, upgraded lighting, and extras like fog and a second mic.

How much space do you need?

A corner or a spot along a wall, roughly the footprint of a card table plus a little standing room, near a standard outlet. I'll confirm the exact spot when we go over the space.

Do you take breaks?

The music never stops. I don't take a set break; if I step away for a minute, a playlist covers it and you won't hear a gap.

How far ahead should I book?

As early as you can for spring-through-fall weekends. That said, plenty of Party DJ bookings come together on a few weeks' notice — call and I'll tell you honestly whether your date's open.
