Marion is the Williamson County seat in a stretch of Southern Illinois once nicknamed Bloody Williamson for a run of early-20th-century labor and Prohibition violence — a strip mine halfway between Marion and Herrin was the site of the 1922 Herrin Massacre, and Charlie Birger's fortified hideout, Shady Rest, once stood on old Route 13 between the two towns. Today Marion is a quieter regional hub with the Williamson County Historical Museum downtown. Backyard parties and reunions here get the same setup as any closer booking. Is there a travel fee for Marion?

Is there a deposit?

Yes. Once we've talked through your date, I hold it for 7 days with no payment. A 50% retainer, non-refundable, then locks it in the moment it clears. The balance is due on the first of the month before your event.

Can I give you a do-not-play list?

Please do. Send your must-plays and your do-not-plays ahead of time, and I'll build the night around both. I take requests live too, but your list comes first.

Do you coordinate with a caterer or the venue?

Yes. If there's a venue coordinator or a caterer, I'll touch base before the day so announcements, meal timing, and cake land where they should.

Is the quote the final price?

Yes. My quote is my invoice. Package price plus any travel line you've already seen — nothing added after the fact.

What happens if your equipment fails?

I bring a full backup system to every event, not just a spare cable. If something goes down, the music keeps going and most guests never notice.

What do you need for power?

One dedicated standard outlet is enough for most parties. For bigger lighting setups I'll want a second circuit so the lights don't share with the sound. If it's an outdoor party with no power nearby, tell me early and we'll plan for it.
