Corydon was Indiana's first state capital — the 1816 constitution was drafted here, reportedly under the shade of the Constitution Elm, and the original limestone capitol still stands at the center of the Corydon Capitol State Historic Site. It's also the site of the only Civil War battle fought on Indiana soil, when Morgan's Raiders came through in 1863. Squire Boone Caverns is a few minutes south. Backyard parties in the historic district and reunions at the county fairgrounds both get the same setup. Corydon is Zone 5 — a flat $400 travel fee, shown as its own line, and for evening events an overnight stay may be worked into the plan. Harrison County runs on Eastern time, an hour ahead of Evansville — confirm start times in Eastern.

Party DJ FAQ — Corydon, IN

Who shows up to DJ my party in Corydon?

Terry Tunks, every time — no subcontractors, no rotating staff. The person you talk to on the phone is the person running your sound and mic on the day, and that's been true for 1,200-plus events with zero no-shows.

Is there a travel fee for Corydon?

Yes — Corydon is Zone 5, a flat $400 added to the package price and shown as its own line in your quote before you sign. It never gets blended into the package number.

Is there a deposit?

Yes. Once we've talked through your date, I hold it for 7 days with no payment. A 50% retainer, non-refundable, then locks it in the moment it clears. The balance is due on the first of the month before your event.

Do you ever need to stay overnight?

For most bookings this far out, it depends on the schedule. If load-in, teardown, or a late end time makes the drive home unsafe, lodging is billed separately at $200 per room per night and disclosed in your quote before you sign — never a surprise afterward.

Will your setup look tidy?

Yes. Cables are managed, the table is skirted, and the rig fits the room rather than dominating it. It should look like it belongs there.

What music do you play?

Whatever your crowd wants. I've DJ'd since 1987, so the library runs from motown and classic rock to current pop, country, and hip-hop. You set the direction; I read the room from there.

What's included in the price?

Full sound system sized for the room, a wireless mic, MC and announcements if you want them, dance-floor lighting, and unlimited requests — on every tier. Higher tiers add more hours, upgraded lighting, and extras like fog and a second mic.

How much space do you need?

A corner or a spot along a wall, roughly the footprint of a card table plus a little standing room, near a standard outlet. I'll confirm the exact spot when we go over the space.
